A pricing page would be great for people wanting to accept paid listings and list doen offerings.
People interested subscribe to the entire directory by paying the necessary fee and then get access to the whole directory through a 2FA email login. This will be very useful for high quality content based directories
Multilingual support
Add guides near the inputs the best sizes for the current image
A big one to integrate I would assume, but would be great to know its a future plan. For any location based directory, restaurants, shops, cafes etc etc, the listings need to be able to be seen on a map, and filter by postcode/zipcode, town, city, county, state etc etc.It means having the option to choose a map based directory and home page, to be searchable in that way.
It looks like we can add lisitngs, but it would be great to add categories so we can show a group of listings
Add AI functionality to write listings/posts based on information in the listing. Include bring your own key for major LLMS like OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.. Also, please add integration for Straico (offers API that connects to many LLM models).
Keep the contacts received by a listing behind a paywall, while the directory app alerts the listing owner of a new lead contact. When the listing owner clicks the message, it shows the paywall where it's possible to pay for the single lead or subscribe to a plan.
Currently, the main home page of the Modern template is divided using Category subheaders. This causes listing cards marked as "Featured" to not be at the top of the page if they are not in the category that is displayed first. It would be good to have an option that is similar to the Default template, where it simply shows all of the listings regardless of category.
All users who submit a listing are automatically added to an email list on beehiiv.
GOOGLE MAPSWould be great to have google maps shown at the end of the listing (right after the content markdown). Its frree (no API needed) and give a really pro style to it 🙂 you just need to the code is this one<div class="mapouter"><div class="gmap_canvas"><iframe class="gmap_iframe" width="100%" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="https://maps.google.com/maps?width=644&height=353&hl=en&q=2880 Broadway, New York&t=&z=14&ie=UTF8&iwloc=B&output=embed"></iframe><a href="https://embed-googlemap.com">embed google maps in website</a></div><style>.mapouter{position:relative;text-align:right;width:100%;height:353px;}.gmap_canvas {overflow:hidden;background:none!important;width:100%;height:353px;}.gmap_iframe {height:353px!important;}</style></div>you can check with this tool https://embed-googlemap.com/PS: in the actual markdown text editor for content i used this one , but not very convenient ::: @iframe https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d3023.719902546563!2d-73.96770852349228!3d40.80866187145944!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x89c2f62ff5cfa6b3%3A0x4764dfc978fbc2f2!2s2880%20Broadway%2C%20New%20York%2C%20NY%2010025%2C%20USA!5e0!3m2!1sen!2sus!4v1699990000000!5m2!1sen!2sus :::
For those who wish to create multiple directories, it would be nice to be able to clone an existing one.
Having list view and grid view options in a directory is important because they cater to different user preferences and use cases, enhancing the overall usability and experience. Here's why each view matters, with examples:List ViewPurpose:Focuses on detailed information in a compact format.Ideal for users who prioritize readability and need more context about each item. Why Important:Detailed Exploration: Allows users to scan descriptions, reviews, prices, or other details without opening individual entries.Efficient Filtering: Easier to compare entries when multiple attributes are listed.Search-Oriented Users: Useful for users with a specific goal, like finding the most affordable yoga retreat in a particular region.Examples:Directory of Local Business: Shows each Service with location, price, duration, and a short description in rows.Restaurant Finder: Displays cuisine type, pricing, and ratings in a clear list format.Grid ViewPurpose:Focuses on visual elements, making it ideal for users browsing visually appealing content.Suitable for quick browsing when detailed descriptions are less critical. Why Important:Aesthetic Appeal: Highlights images, perfect for visually rich content like yoga retreats, real estate listings, or products.Quick Browsing: Encourages exploration when users don’t have a specific item in mind.Mobile Friendliness: Optimized for smaller screens, offering a clean and engaging layout.Examples:Directory of Local Business: Displays Business names with a prominent photo, city, and brief tagline in a grid.Travel Destination Finder: Shows thumbnails of destinations, each with the name and a price tag.Benefits of Offering Both ViewsUser Choice: Adapts to different browsing styles, improving accessibility and satisfaction.Device Adaptability: Grid views are mobile-friendly, while list views work well on desktops.Task-Specific Use: Users can toggle between views based on whether they need detailed info (list) or a quick overview (grid).By combining both views, directories can effectively meet the diverse needs of their users.https://shuffle.dev/editor?project=8d8d2b954866701e0db39b4dc918c8fb9b135064https://tailwind.build/classes/positioning/-translate-y-px
Integration of Razorpay gateway for recieving local Indian payments. Easy and straightforward implementation. They also have help page describing various steps of integration.
It would be great if we can do bulk import/export to pretty much every custom field or data associated with a listings.Currently in Import, we can only import basic stuff which is great, but it'd be even better if we can importSEO InformationCategory per listingCustom FieldsThis feature would most probably be something that comes before direct Google Sheet direct integration. This would save a lot of time and make it easy to bulk update information.
implementing newsletters going out from the directory. It requires a news letter editor/composer and a custom SMTP or mail system like Amazon SES or Gmail so that cost burden rests with directory owner. The newsletter editor should have the ability to embed latest listings, blog posts and some custom messages and offers. We should have the ability to input the frequency of the newsletter (weekly, fortnightly, monthly...etc)A directory newsletter is a great way to build dedicated leads/subscribers for monetization
can you make it possible to add listings to under 'Edit Category' page? Right now, I have to go into listings to add a new category but would be a whole lot easier to just add the listings to the category on creation.
This would help directory owners to accept ad banners for added monetization.
Very useful especially if you need clients to select from a long list of attributes.
Stripe isnt support in South Africa and other countries. Paypal is a nice alternative with wider support for those countries without access to Stripe.
My parent categories are locations - I would like to have sub categories (specialties) listed in multiple locations, thus under multiple parent categories
Multiple filters selection (multiple categories), and also order by (A-Z up and down, date submission older recent, price range.. something similar to spread simple. It woudl help so much the search. And also each item can have multiple categories (and location)
Enable the creation of landing pages from custom pages with the option to set any landing page as the main home page. The directory owner can choose between a landing page or a listing page as the main home page. This feature will support building membership sites. Additionally, the landing page should be able to process payments (one-time or subscription) to grant access to the main directory, functioning as both a sales/info page and a paywall.
I noticed that regardless of the theme, the button and pill colors are the same. It would be good to have an option in the settings to change the color based on directory branding.
Opening up the blogging system to receive outside submission with or without approval (just like listing). Outside contribution will increase credibility of the Blog. Also, it will open up another monetization avenue - Posting of Brand/Client specific articles which the directory owner gets paid for. Will additionally help any Client/Brand with PR and more links
One of the easiest ways for new directories to start earning from website traffic is from ads from established ad networks, as it requires no outreach or selling of ad slots. Optimizing directories to support ad-networks enables directory owners to start earning something from day one.
Having an HTML header to inject code on each listing page is critical for several reasons: Search Engine Optimization (SEO):- Metadata: Adding metadata such as page titles, descriptions, and keywords helps search engines understand the content, improving rankings.- Canonical Tags: Prevents duplicate content issues by indicating the preferred URL.- Robots Meta Tags: Guides search engines on how to crawl and index the page.Rich Search Results:- Schema Markup: Enhances the appearance of listings in search results (e.g., rich snippets) by providing structured data about the content (location, ratings, price, etc.).Improved User Experience:- Social Media Previews: Metadata like Open Graph tags and Twitter Cards ensure listings display properly when shared on social platforms.- Dynamic Content Adaptation: Injecting custom JavaScript or CSS can tailor the user experience.Performance Optimization:- Preloading Resources: Specifies important resources (e.g., fonts or images) to load faster.- Asynchronous Scripts: Adds critical scripts (analytics, tracking) efficiently without blocking rendering.Tracking and Analytics:- Ensures every page is properly integrated with tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or other tracking systems for data collection.Scalability and Maintenance:- Centralized header injection simplifies updates across multiple pages, ensuring consistency and reducing manual errors.By embedding these elements in the header, you create a more visible, accessible, and functional page for both users and search engines.
Ability for users to leave a review at the individual listing level and the ability for the admin to approve, edit or remove the review. Alternatively, ability to integrate google reviews on individual listing along with the star reviews.
in case a listing is no longer active, customers can report listings to be taken down
An event page just like the blog page can help list events online and offline which are specific to the directory niche. The listings can be monetized.
Currently when you use the search bar, it only searches the Name and Description fields of each listing. It would be great if it would also search the Categories and Tags, and possibly the Content. Why is this useful?Instead of clicking on a category or tag, a user may simply search for the name of the category or tag using the search bar.Currently, if those exact words aren't used in either the Name or Description field of a listing (which happens often), the listing won't show up.This results in listings that are perfectly qualified for the user's search term not showing up in the search results.
Please add an option to hide/unhide (or enable/disable) Tags and Category labels on Homepage for Modern template. The current layout is messed with too many text (including text on labels) and not to mention text on Listing's cover image. Please see: https://share.zight.com/yAugR2E2 (updated)Also need to have a clickable Category Title, user no need to swipe to the far-right to click
Blog to have search, categories and Tags for Blogs. This will help better retrieval of posts and also neat divisions based on topics/categories
What is a good custom field for one category will be completely inappropriate for another. Need to tie custom fields to categories.
I have a pop-up tents directory, and I think it would be useful to compare those listings for fields such as price, size, capacity, etc.
The ability to have some listing fields behind a paywall. For example, basic fields like name and contact details are free, but if users want to include additional details such as a booking URL or more photos, an add-on should be purchased.

A buy button at individual listing level can help sell digital products in two waysA blog post itself can be paywalled (as ebook or course) and opened up on paymentOn payment, buyer is redirected to a download url.
Integrate with Pabbly for automating in and out of the system.
In the Modern template, when you go to a category page, it just shows a green checkmark to highlight a featured listing card, and doesn't follow the formatting you've set in the backend.Could this be updated so it shows the same formatting as it does on the main homepage?
Tally is so versatile. You can create feedback form, satisfaction surveys, lead generation form, etc. Whatever you want basically. And their free plan is super generous. :DScreenshots are pop up and full page form examples
Support for Wider range of Custom Fields - Single Select (DD & Radio) (Sort / Alpha, Colour / Mono, Defaults & Ai - DeepSeek)Multi Select (Sort / Alpha, Colour / Mono, Defaults & Ai - DeepSeek) (Smart Suite / Airtable - has some brilliant options) (Pills / Checkboxes / Like Tags)Mobile Number with ISD & Country Flag icon. Also is there a way to link that Mobile number to indicate that the user uses that number for WA / Telegram / iMessage, etc. (Instead of creating custom fields for each service and entering the Mobile number multiple times)Voting - Upvote, Downvote & Net Vote (Up - Down) with Negative & 0 Options. (Ranking)Rating / NPS (Scale, Labels, Tick size) & Avg. Overall Rating (Avg. of Multiple Selected Ratings) E.g. (Build Quality / Features, Price, Service which have individual ratings, but the avg. of which make up the Over All Rating)Address (Google Maps / Places / Apple Maps, Mapbox, etc.) (with Option / Fields for Neighbourhoods / Locality - Like Soho or Little Italy in NYC)Number Slider / Currency or Price RangeBoolean (Toggle / Checkbox) with Custom Labels, Icons & Colours & DefaultsTime & Time Range / Slider (Working Hours)Date & Time - Time Stamp & CountdownCurrency, Percent, Sum, Count, Avg., Max, Min., Big Numbers (K,M,B,T, Custom), Decimals, etc. (Number Formats). Also, can you include the Currency Number format of India which is 99,99,99,99,999.99 vs. US 999,999,999.99QR Code / Barcode Colour (Hex / RGB / CYMK) for Brand Colours, etc.Custom Button with Static URL & URL Formula (Preferred Communication Method, Details Page vs. Website based on paid or free)Social Media Linking - where we just have to enter the username not the entire url. So you select the service & the static part of the URL is populated (https://www.instagram.com/) and the user can fill in their username or if we have a full link we can paste that too. This can tie into # 15.What would really be helpful is if we can have Global, Custom & Peer Populated Option Sets for Single Selects (SS) & Multi Selects (MS).An Example of a Global Option Set would be Continents, Countries (Icons, ISD, TLD, etc.), Months, Days, etc. which we can Select when we choose the SS or MS as each and everyone of us have to do the same thing over & over. These things don't change irrespective of where you are. Custom Option Sets would be common for each individual user across his/her directories. (Proprietary info, Highly specific Fields / info). Not a great example, but lets say I specialise in Travel / F&B Directories, then a Custom Option Set would be : Pet Friendly? with Multiple Options. That way, I won't have to create this option set for each and every directory of mine. An E.G. of a Peer Populated Option Set would be Job Titles, Industries, Sectors, Companies, Neighbourhoods / Localities etc. (This would be like a Global Option Set with the Option for Us to Add a New Option or use Ai to generate for Bulk) This will reduce your load as well as you won't have every directory owner creating the same data - Job Title for example. (CEO is a CEO....)Thanks Serg - I know this is a long list - please do so at your pace and at least provide support for the low hanging ones. That way when we import / export the data as well, it is in the right format / mapping.
The idea is to make listings active for a certain time and business owners should update/relist their business for free. This is useful for those who want to keep the directory free for business owners but still want to make sure that the businesses listed are active.
Something like listing views, top listings, etc.
I wanted to suggest change different colours on the different tagsFor example: tag #1 - redtag #2 - blueetc
Will be a good addition to have vertical display cards like Pinterest.
https://www.terrific.tools/ is a very clean, minimalist style, easy to use theme. Would be great to be able to have a similar template in directify.
Would love to see infinite scrolling option instead of pagination on listings. I prefer sites where i do not have to click through, so think this would be great alternative.
Allow users to collapse custom fields to prevent excessively long pages when adding multiple content elements (videos, images, text, etc.). This can be implemented using Tailwind’s Collapse Component, with an arrow icon for expanding/collapsing sections. **Key Features:** * Option to enable/disable collapsibility when creating a custom field. * Only specific fields can be made collapsible. * Clean UI with an intuitive toggle for expanding/collapsing content. This will improve readability and user experience by keeping the interface organized.
Hello. I'd love to be able to make images link to a website in a new tab (opening on the same page won't work). Thank you!
Allow sharing a link for directory build structures (excluding listing data) for easier replication by other directory builders.
Add separate hero image for Blog/Article page
it’s good for SEO internal cross-linking. as well as for ux. for example, when user opens any project card he will see articles related to that card. as well as if user opens article, then he will see a block that directs user to that card.
For directories that do not allow public submissions: please create the ability for users to claim their listings that were manually created by the directory owner and allow those claimed listings to be edited by the person who claims the listing, even though it was not a public submission. Also, please create the ability for the directory owner to limit the ability for claimants to create new categories or tags. As the directory owner, I would like for my users to be able to edit everything in their listing and choose from categories & tags that currently exist, but I don't want to give them the ability to create new categories or tags. Thank you!
would be great to have beside Published listing , another toggle button to enable or disable the listing to be visible in search (HIDE FROM SEARCH or UNLISTED) or under the categories also. it allows to keep all the poser of the SEO page that ranked for long time without loosing it (and also break your DB table..). And also, if we make the listing with subscription, maybe people dont want to pay anymore so we can remove them from the list without unpublish them page.Appsumo does it with thousend of LTDs that are not anymore available, but it keeps the SEO juice, and when someone is looking for a tool, appsumo appears still in 1st page, and it keeps bringing them leads everyday. but they are not listed anymore in the front page to avoid unrelevant content not available for them buyers.SOME REAL USECASES:Real Estate ListingsUse Case: A property has been sold or rented. Create some blocks to create a landing page or category theme pages (e.g category a and only listings for categorie with the possibility to have custom text for each categories in form of a individual hero or something like that) and the possibility to have different heros on each category page
I want to be able to place links in the header that go to directory categories, or to be able to choose whether external links open a new tab/window
Will help take sponsorships by displaying their logo/ads. Similarly ad banners can also be taken separately. Both will help monetization of the creators
ability to show related listing when click on the tag
Give the ability to customize your listing layouts. For example, instead of the product image/screenshot, add a logo instead. And be able to adjust the grid size and looks. And be able to choose/change different main menus.
I can 100% see a use case where a partner who is listed is willing to pay for leads. Usually this is only a few dollars per lead, but can add up. Having a contact form embedded into a listing for a visitor to fill out and have that info sent to a listing partner and automatically may me as the directory builder would be super useful.
Shift listings below content on category pages Only show selected listings from category on its category page Only show paid listings from category on its category page
Sticky button permanently visible at the bottom of the screen on listings to visit the site.
If this has already been discussed, I apologize. With the aim of automating the management and marketing of a directory, automatically sending an email at a custom frequency (daily/weekly/custom) would be beneficial. Example: https://prnt.sc/YmOAkAZbzZ3y
Please add a commenting feature on blog posts and listings pages.
Could we reorder categories in the backoffice to show in the frontend the order we want to? Actually it showa the categories in the Alphabet order , and it's not always the beast as we want maybe to have some categories in the top list (promos, best deals, etc).
This would help create a more welcoming, marketing focused homepage.
I'm interested in spanish. Happy to help with translation if needed.
This will help us generate report on how many times a business got referral from us. This will be a great way to start the conversation with businesses listing with us.

Articles are currently published using UTC time zone. Can it be an option to choose my preferred time zone?
Users should also be able to customize / update their listings. It would be nice to have the option of providing revisions for the lowest user level.orBefore users submit their listing, that they see a preview and have to click a checkbox “I have checked the information for accuracy and would like to publish your listing” before submitting it.
Possibility to upload more than one file in the custom 'file upload' field.
An FAQ that is constantly built by visitors. I always though this app:https://hagrid.io/ was a great idea and could add to your schema without you doing too much. This tool was abandoned a long long time ago, but for engagement, this would be great. No idea if its something you can build into directify, but thought I would mention it!
A CTA (Call-to-Action) popup at the bottom view on mobile in a directory is effective for several reasons:1. High VisibilityThe bottom of the screen is a natural resting place for thumbs on mobile devices, making it easy to tap without extra effort.Always within view, especially when scrolling through listings, ensuring maximum exposure.2. Improved EngagementGrabs attention without being intrusive, as users can easily dismiss or interact with it.Encourages immediate action, such as “Call Now,” “Book a Visit,” or “Get Directions.”3. Mobile-Optimized DesignFits seamlessly into mobile browsing behavior, where users expect quick access to options.Does not block content, maintaining a positive user experience while promoting actions.4. Higher Conversion RatesMakes it easy for users to act when interest is highest—after reading details about a business or service.Offers direct shortcuts to phone calls, emails, bookings, or purchases without needing to scroll back up.5. Contextual RelevanceCan be personalized based on the listing viewed (e.g., “Contact this restaurant” or “Book a table”).Provides urgency with limited-time offers, such as “Only 2 spots left—Reserve Now!”Example Use Case in a DirectoryA user viewing a restaurant listing sees this popup at the bottom:Someone looking for a software ro course or amazon item, and see a promo code and clicking on it to have the discount
Integrate https://www.creem.io/ as an alternative to LemonSqueezy and Stripe to process global payments easily. Creem remits sales tax payments worldwide freeing directoy owners from sales tax oblgations (other tax obligations apply based on your jurisdiction).
Check for and report dead links
Display the category information in the Listing edit table and include a quick way to reassign multiple listings to different categories.
The current Hero banner is taking up all the space of the first fold of the website, a narrower width banner can help in managing to display more information and better management of that space.
Suggest a 1-row, 2-column structure for the contact form to add text beside it. Sample image attached for better organization.
Please consider adding a discussion forum feature for membership sites. It would boost member engagement with categories, threads, private/public access, moderation tools, and notifications. This can also act as a USP for our websites, attracting more sign-ups for memberships.
when creating or editing a projects it would great to be able to add notes to myself about the project that is not visible on my site but only for me.
To enhance the brand identity of each directory, give the ability to customize the hero section by moving the Hero section directly under the header, outside the categories and listings container.
On Edit Directory form when changing theme there could be a tooltip preview of theme preventing jumping back and forth between the website and directify
Add posibility to open listing in modal (from grids view) like on Producthunt, preserve "normal" page for SEO crawlers.
Automatic internal linking (Like YARRP from wordpress) between content would help seo and be awesome. :) https://wordpress.org/plugins/yet-another-related-posts-plugin/https://www.linkter.ai/
I would love to be able to customize directories in an easier way. For example, I need to inspect all elements in order to find what I need, change the background, etc. Themes are not editable which makes this slower too. Ideally, when we pick a theme, or having a custom theme, we could customize every element available.Alternatively, we could have a "map" of what element is where (somehow).
I am finding the speed performance has detoriated over the last months. This is on the backend, i havent tested the front end. There can be quite a delaly when moving between listings, categories etc. Is there anything you can do to improve the performance?
Not everyone is a developer or knows code. It would be good to have the option to add a top banner with a background image and a description of the directory as well as the logo and a button to submit a listing.
Toolfinder has some great features and designs. I love the layout of their listings pages: https://toolfinder.co/tools/todoistI like that you cannot see their rating or the user rating for a listing, until you register with them. Once logged in, you can also save your own favourite listings. The filter allows you to choose multi categories, multi custom fields etc.
Please make the link on "Explore More" going to related Category of the Listings. Currently it going to All Category, e.g. https://mydirectory,com/categories/ See attached screenshot
Please have Directify alert us when a blog article slug has already been published, so we can create a new slug while writing a new blog post. This will prevent republishing the prior article where the new article should be. Thank you!
Allow directory owners to choose whether the search bar only looks at post titles or if it can also look at post descriptions.
At the bottom of each page have CTA and Lead form
i have realised when adding tags to a listing, it does not bring up any you have already used, you literally have to type the whole tag again. Would be much more useful to show recent, or better, to show tags matching the first 2/3 letters you write...
automatically grab favicon from site for directory (https://dev.to/derlin/get-favicons-from-any-website-using-a-hidden-google-api-3p1e)
Making use of some of the white space, I like the features sidebar on here: https://share.oakcassidy.com/QwuyYRnQ as well as the tabs, keeps things nice and clean.
For digital business directories, a preview of the website or social from a listed business/tool is very compelling.
As described here, would be amazing to track outbound clicks and share links to track with sponsors etc.have used dub.co before and it's super useful as a metric to verify the content that is performing. (GSC + Analytic Software + Click tracking.)https://x.com/steventey/status/1878517146474430586
I would like to organize my listings by country, business size, and a few other attributes - but I don't want to use parent categories for these. For example in the attached screenshot, I want "All Countries" to just be plain text and not lead to its own Category page.Currently the only way to accomplish a hierarchy like this is to make "All Countries" the parent category, which gives it its own Category page which would just be an empty category page.
On the listing submission page, offer a way to restrict the number of categories or only show the sub-categories that people can select.
More and more people are requesting an llm.txt path on websites to be listed in LLM searches. Let's make this happen here. https://llmstxt.org/
The ability to have a block or section within each listing and custom page where you can add HTML. An alternative would be to have a separate Text Editor tab like you don't for Markdown and the Blocks section.
Mask External Links as Internal Redirects (e.g. "/go/offer") Add the ability to redirect external links through internal-looking URLs like "/go/offer-name". This helps with: * Hiding affiliate footprints from Google * Keeping GSC reports clean (avoids showing external redirects) * Centralized link management & analytics It's also key for monetizing directory-based sites without being flagged as a bridge/affiliate site. Would love to see this added!
Currently, there are only two options: manually write and import or connect to SEObot. SEObot is okay, but it would be beneficial to have more choices. Most services use a webhook and secret. Specifically, I want to use Arvow, which offers better value and more flexibility than SEObot.
IntegrationAcumbamail (https://acumbamail.com/en/) is an all-in-one marketing platform with comprehensive email marketing features, similar to MailChimp or ActiveCampaign. Integrating Acumbamail would help us capture leads, manage subscriber lists, run email campaigns, and configure their SMTP server to send notifications and transactional emails.
IntegrationAdd a canny link/button in the topbar for quick feature or issue reporting.
I use Koala ai for my content writing, its been the most successful for me. Not sure if an integration is possible, but they do have an api....
Like the Google Sheets integration, but with Smartsuite you get a RD to weed out duplicates and structured data. It's Cheaper than Airtable & has support for many more Field Types. 250K row limit per base vs. 125K for Airtable.Fillout or Tally Forms can be embedded in our Directory. The results of which are pushed to Smart Suite and which get Synced to Directify.
Paystack is a payment gateway that supports multiple african countries from a single API making it a sensible choice to cater to people from multiple countries simulataneously.
Modern template: The address icon is displayed twice.
When importing categories in bulk from a CSV, the URL of the icons does not work.
Please make it possible to customize their colors. Search Placeholder Border and Search Category Border Customization in the dfault template
Similar to Google Sheets, but easier to work with and handles attachments as images more intuitively.
If the listing tiles in the directory are all that need to be displayed and there is no more content for inner pages, there should be a provision to disable access to the inner page when a user clicks on the listing tile.
Please add the option to use OpenStreetMap (openstreetmap.org) instead of Google Maps. It’s a **free**, open-source alternative with no API billing issues—perfect for users who want to avoid Google’s limitations or costs. It would be great to have this as a selectable map provider in Directify!
I would love to be able to select the language(s) of our choice for the automatic emails sent by the platform. This is to comply with local legislation in my province/ country (Quebec, Canada; must send all communications in French/ English). I'm sure other countries have similar requirements. In my case, I'd only need 2 languages, but it could be interesting to have some flexibility there. On feasibility, Luca shared this: ''Technically, I believe it is possible in the future, it needs to be carefully considered but it is feasible. The only requirement is to have a 'language assigned to the directory' and then create the templates in the various languages. What you select == what is sent.'' If we have templates, we could also include the different languages in a single email, if that's easier. **Either way, I am happy to provide/proofread the French version.** Thanks!
Add a "Website" category under Social Links with a globe icon. Thank you!
FeatureImplement an automatic email reminder for submitters who have not paid for their package.
I’d like to suggest an enhancement to the way tags display under listings. Currently, tags shown under each listing are static and not interactive. I suggest making these tags clickable, so that when a visitor clicks a tag, the site automatically filters the directory to show all listings associated with that tag. This would greatly improve user navigation and discovery, encourage deeper engagement with related listings, and create a more intuitive browsing experience, especially for mobile users who may not want to scroll through long filters or tag menus. This behavior is common in many directory and marketplace platforms, and would bring QCDayTrips.com closer to that standard of usability. Thanks for considering!
FeatureDo not show the 'Claim' button when users have already paid for listings or when they have created the listing themselves (i.e., should not show as 'Unclaimed').
Instead of calling everything "Projects" allow customers to specify what they have in the directory: listings, wedding venues, submissions, etc.
You only have on Directories page but when editing the directory it'd be better UX to have a link to the website
I would like to add external comments plugin. This can allow social login and additional comments (and possibly pictures) I was thinking that it would be easy to add a code block where I could add this code - this could even be an "ad" block. So under each listing I could rotate in or out ads, messages to promote an offer I may have, and add code like a Discus comment script.
Integrating the Square payment portal would be a great addition.
Import default categories. See the list of categories here: https://directify.app/categories. Error 404.
When we disable access to the inner page of a listing, we need multiple social share buttons to appear on the listing tile/window. This should be implemented through JS and CSS.
Ability to have manually scrollable listing images as a carousel in the listing card. This is very useful when we disable access to inner listing pages and keep the directory display at the first level only. The carousel should have the ability to display vertical images.
Consider implementing more affordable alternatives to ScreenshotOne. For example, CloudBrowser.com offers 15k renders for $19, compared to ScreenshotOne's 2k for $17. Other cost-effective options are available, allowing us to combine multiple services when quotas are reached. Examples include: https://microlink.io https://cloudbrowser.co https://html2pdfapi.com https://www.screenshotapi.net/
It would be cool if we could hide this on category pages and single listing pages.
It would be beneficial to have an option to use the display name for categories in the sidebar. This would help avoid issues like the one shown in the image.
Listing Management: - Wider view of the listings screen for better management for those not using Google Sheets. - Full export including all custom fields. - View: Possibility to activate more columns than the standard ones [Columns: Url, Slug, User Name etc... - Filtering: Exclude non-owners. - Filtering: Richer section, possibly also with the ability to filter custom fields - Display more than 100 listings per page.
An option to add a CAPTCHA to the public submissions page to reduce spam submissions.
On QCDayTrips.com, using the **Sunset Theme** and **Default Template**, the “Search for a listing” input box on the homepage does not respond when text is entered. Typing a keyword or listing name and pressing Enter has no effect — there are no results, no suggestions, and no change in listings. However, tag-based filters and category selections function normally. The issue appears to be specific to the search bar's text input functionality and may indicate a missing or broken search integration. Please review if this is a bug or something that needs to be activated/configured.
BugOn QCDayTrips.com using the **Sunset Theme** and **Default Template**, with Microsoft Edge browser, the tag filter system allows selecting **one tag**, but after that, it becomes unresponsive. I can’t: * Select a second tag * Remove or uncheck the first tag * Clear the tag selection The interface appears to freeze or lock, and I have to refresh the page to interact with the tags again. This issue occurs consistently and may be related to the other search bar bug I reported, but I’m not sure. This severely limits the ability for users to browse listings by multiple tags or reset their filters.
BugCurrently, the directory platform limits each listing to display a maximum of 5 categories on both the listing card and the individual listing page. For niche directories like mine (QCDayTrips.com), where destinations often span many relevant categories, this limitation restricts discoverability and user experience. **Suggested Improvement:** Allow site admins to adjust the maximum number of visible categories per listing (e.g., 5, 10, or unlimited), either globally via settings or per listing template. **Why this matters:** Increasing this limit enhances searchability, allows more accurate categorization, and supports curated directories that rely on multi-tagged listings for effective filtering and SEO.
FeatureWhen a user submits a new listing on **QC.LocalDayTrips.com**, they are given the option to select one or more tags from the predefined tag list. However, upon submission, **none of the selected tags are saved or attached to the listing**. The final submission appears as if no tags were selected at all. **Steps to Reproduce:** 1. Go to the listing submission page. 2. Fill out the form as a user. 3. Select one or more tags from the dropdown/tag selection field. 4. Submit the listing. 5. View the submitted listing (as admin or public). 6. Observe that no tags appear, even though they were selected during submission. **Expected Result:** Selected tags should appear in the submitted listing and be saved properly in the database. **Actual Result:** No tags are saved. The listing shows up as if no tags were selected. **Notes:** * This issue persists across multiple browsers. * Tags **do** work when edited manually from the backend — the issue seems isolated to the front-end submission process. * All tags are predefined and not user-generated. Let me know if you'd like me to include screenshots or a test listing URL to illustrate the issue more clearly.
Bug## Feature Request – Add Role-Based User Permissions for Team Management ### Description I'd like to suggest a highly valuable feature for Directify that would enable directory owners to **add multiple users/employees** to their account, with **customizable permission levels** tied to specific directories. --- ### Why This Is Needed Currently, only the **main account holder** has access to all directories under a single Directify account. This presents serious limitations and risks: - It’s **not scalable** for teams or businesses managing multiple directories. - It’s **risky** to share full login credentials with contractors or employees just to delegate basic tasks. - There is **no way to restrict access** to certain sections (e.g., listings, blog posts, tags) or specific directories. --- ### Proposed Solution Allow the account owner to: 1. **Invite users** (employees, contractors, collaborators) to the Directify account. 2. **Assign roles per directory**, such as: - **Admin** – full access to a specific directory. - **Editor** – limited to managing listings, categories, blog posts, and/or tags. - **Read-only** – can view data but not make changes. 3. **Customize access levels** per user: - Grant or restrict access to: - Listings - Categories - Blogs - Tags - Payments - Settings - Per directory basis (e.g., access to only *Directory A*, not *B* or *C*). --- ### Benefits - Safer, role-based collaboration. - Makes it easier to **scale directory businesses** by delegating work. - Prevents accidental changes or breaches by limiting permissions. - More professional management for agencies or growing teams. --- Please let me know if this is already in the roadmap or if there’s a workaround in the meantime. This would be a **game-changing feature** for agencies or solopreneurs looking to grow their directory businesses with help from a team.
FeatureFor blog articles used for deals, it would be beneficial to enter an expiry date and a task for a post. For example, an expired post could be moved to another category or the 'Published' status could be deactivated.
So in testing the file upload feature i found that when i uploaded an image, it showed the image. I'd like a small tweak where it gives you the option to show the image or the download link just because i'd prefer the download link. I'd also like to customise the call to action of the download link.
### **Feature Request: Multiple Listing Containers and Tiered Listing Levels** **Overview:** I’d like to suggest functionality for creating and displaying **multiple directory listing containers** on the same page — specifically the ability to separate listings by type or tier. **Use Case:** On a typical home or listings page, we currently have one directory listings container that displays all listings. The idea is to have **two separate containers**: 1. **Featured Listings Container** – This would include fully featured listings (e.g., paid listings) with all fields and capabilities currently available in Directify. 2. **Basic Listings Container** – A secondary section (perhaps placed lower on the page or after some content) that displays free or limited listings. These would have only minimal fields such as name, address, and phone number — ideal for local directories or simple visibility. **Purpose:** This setup would allow more flexibility in how listings are presented: * Highlight premium or featured listings more prominently. * Still include free or limited listings for a comprehensive directory, but in a more minimal, less prominent format. * Create a visual and functional distinction between listing tiers. **Additional Suggestion:** It would be valuable to have **different listing levels or templates** that can be assigned to listings: * _Featured/Paid Listings_ → Full functionality, all fields visible. * _Free/Basic Listings_ → Limited fields (e.g., name and phone only). This would allow site owners to: * Better monetize directories. * Offer tiered visibility and customization. * Improve user experience by separating high-value listings from minimal entries.
FeatureA lot of directories look lifeless. Just a list of tools. I think adding an optional bio section to the sidebar would be GREAT. Blogs commonly do this with a picture and short bio. ex: When I'm not writing for this blog, you can find me playing Xbox or feeding stray kittens." Whatever somebody wants to add - but the key thing is that it works to create a more "human" connection. Even if it's cheesy, it creates some kind of context about the directory - and this is important because as AI becomes more content-dominant, people will want to feel more connection.
Ability to step through listings without having to go back to all listings. I.e. a next and previous button on the edit listing page.
FeatureThere are so many purpose built and free AI models available in open router. We should be using those. Please add support for open router.
The Straico platform (https://straico.com/) provides access to the latest AI models without needing separate subscriptions. Straico API Integration will allow us to use the latest model of our choice for Directify's AI features.
IntegrationThis is a site i have: https://resources.padelpunto.co.uk/ which you can see has a very simple upvote option for listings. You can filter by top voted listings.....no login needed, so nice and simple.
Product Rating Ability
The idea is to show a way for users to claim an unclaimed listing on the listing's front end. This is useful when directories are prepopulated.
For some cases when any analytics tool assigned to the directory, people might need to display cookie banner, make an option to turn it on/off
WEBHOOKIf someone submits a listing themselves it should be possible to send the data to a webhook (i.e. to add them to an email marketing list for example)Could a separate webhook also please be set to trigger on approval of the listing (where approval is required)
It would be great to be able to upload our own SVG icons for the categories.
New template where categories can be listed above listings, instead of just sidebar
Have an option to enable or disable the footer. To be able to add links to pages (such as terms and conditions, privacy and policy, about us, contact us ) and about us section in the footer.
Google sheets or bulk editing integration for larger directories. I have a 200+ item directory I'd love to be able to edit @ scale with Google Sheets as backend.
I think I am right in saying, we cannot currently edit the alt text. Would like to be able to do this, even better to be able to connect a tool like alttext.ai, or an ai generator for alt text
After importing the listing, usually it contains image URL that is from old website, which needs to be re-uploaded to internal server to be sure it's accessible from everywhere
Really need to have custom fields for listings, with the ability to be filtered.. This way you could have things like price options (free, paid, etc), or whatever you want. Different from sub categories, it gives you the ability to show more info on a listing page, aswell as being able to filter for larger directories
This can make the tool more versatile. Adding a form, chatbot, giveaways, google reviews, even social network galleries.
Tags are listed in the order they were entered. However, a new tag may need to be added, but it needs to be reordered in the list where it makes sense. Thanks!

Using ScreenshotOne, would be great to have the ability to automatically screenshot/upload the page from the URL. (Right now I'm doing manually and time consuming for lots of listings.)
Can we have multiple images for each item. If we do a markeplace, people will want to show more than 1 picture of them cars, furnitures, houses, etc etc
Serg thanks for this great product. Honestly when I saw it on twitter I just added my card straight up 😊 I have one request and looking forward to your planned ones. The request is ability to change the listing slug. Currently I see that all listing has /projects/listing-name Can we have where we can change /projects/ to our own ? For example it will help with SEO outcome a lot. For example if I want to have photographer directory using /projects/photoghername would be weird but for example having /photographers/photographer name will be ideal for such a directory I hope you get what I mean.
This would save a huge amount of time, being able to add to a directory straight from chrome. Similar to how shopper.com works, being able to be on the url, then use the chrome extension to add the listing, edit the url, automatically add the screenshot etc
**Why Add <lastmod> to Your Sitemap XML?**Adding the <lastmod> tag to your sitemap XML is crucial for helping Google know when a page was last updated. It tells Google that it might be worth revisiting the page more frequently to ensure the content is up to date in search results.✅ Benefits:Crawl Prioritization: Google can revisit updated pages more often.Efficient Crawling: Google saves resources by focusing on pages that have changed, without rechecking those that remain the same.SEO Optimization: By ensuring your content is always fresh, you increase your chances of being well-ranked, especially for information that changes frequently.🔑 Example XML Code:```xml<url><loc>https://directify.app</loc><lastmod>2025-02-20</lastmod></url>```In this example, the page at directify.app was last updated on February 20th, 2025. By adding this tag to your sitemap, you help Google determine which pages to crawl more frequently, improving your site's visibility and SEO.
I struggle with an easy way to edit a listings category and tags. If they could be included in the Export I could easily make my changes then Import to update the changes.
To have 4 or 5 pictures per listing instead of only 1? even for softwares could be great to show the Saas inside or portfolios etc
Similar Posts/Articles based on categories
The URL custom field currently shows the whole url you add, would be better if you could either have it as a button, or at the least, be able to change it to the text you want to show instead of the full url.
Add possibility to add image gallery and video gallery to listing with option to place it through markup or on default position.
Please add the ability for links and hyperlinks to open to a new tab in the rich text editor in the blog and custom pages. Thank you!
Directory logo is only being shown on desktop.
On larger screens, there is alot of wasted space on the listing page: https://share.oakcassidy.com/kpuzkYO1Would be good to have this more responsive, or add a sidebar for widgets, custom fields, tags, review section, ratings, ad, etc etc. ie: something rather than empty.
I understand we have the url on listing page but a direct link on the card would be useful. The name of the link should be customisable like 'Visit website' or 'Check out website', etc
URLs should not appear as a button; it is better to provide the option to have both the URL and the anchor/text.
It would be awesome if we could see the full width of the content area (marked blue).
I'm thinking about situations where 'hiding' the platform used (Directify) could be a key advantage for some businesses and create further opportunities.
want to change it to 'Powered by Directify' or 'Build your own directory', etc
At the bottom or right sidebar, show a list of lisitngs from the same category. The list of related listings can be shown or hidden with a toggel on a per lisitng basis (shown by default).
I want to have a unique title and description at the top of category pages so that I can give context to each category listing.
Ability to manage categories via Google Sheet
I was wondering if we can have Directify connect with Blogbuster via API here: https://startupfuelhq.notion.site/API-Integration-1c6b0a2906c780e19874e2e17c097a7e. This would allow for auto-blogging or pushing articles directly from them. This would be great to have. Thanks, Serg.
Now we have only a listing without relationship between them . for exemple a software is independent and doesnt related to a company or brand. what could be awesome is to connect all of this and allow realtions. ffor exemple if we do a listing of books and authors (1 author - many books), or a listing of movies (1 movie - multpiple actors / 1 actor - many movies). this would give the last touch of flexibilty of a listing after filters and aloows a huge ranking in SEO beacuse of internal linkings :)here some exemples for listings very usefull that would make great sens and value for a listingBooks and AuthorsOne-to-Many: An author can write multiple books, but a book typically has one primary author.Example: J.K. Rowling wrote the Harry Potter series.Many-to-Many: Books can have multiple authors, and authors can collaborate on multiple books.Example: Textbooks often have several authors contributing.Movies and ActorsOne-to-Many: A movie director may direct multiple movies, but each movie typically has one main director.Example: Christopher Nolan directed Inception and Interstellar.Many-to-Many: An actor can star in multiple movies, and a movie can feature multiple actors.Example: Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic and Inception, while Titanic also starred Kate Winslet.Football Teams and PlayersOne-to-Many: A football team can have multiple players, but a player is generally contracted to one team at a time.Example: Manchester United has players like Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes.Many-to-Many: Over a career, a player can play for multiple teams, and teams can have players who previously played elsewhere.Example: Cristiano Ronaldo played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.Brands and CarsOne-to-Many: A car brand manufactures multiple models of cars, but each car model is tied to one brand.Example: Toyota produces the Corolla, Camry, and RAV4.Many-to-Many: Car platforms or parts may be shared across brands, and brands may collaborate on specific models.Example: Toyota and Subaru jointly developed the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ.
Currently the color of tags can be customized per tag, but not as a global site wide setting. It would be useful to be able to do this globally. I'm specifically interested in changing the color as displayed on the listing cards.
It would be great if we could also have a dashboard for submitters (just like what we have on our own Directify dashboard) where we can put important links or announcements.
Import csv file is not capturing all the fields to automate such as category, tags, custom field, etc. It will be good to include all related fields in the listing to speed up process of listings.
Together with categories, ability to add tags to listings
Please provide an option to select and prioritize top categories for better organization and navigation. Under the hero banner, top categories appear. This is currently automatically selected based on the number of listings in that category. Can it be made selectable as appropriate? Some categories may be useful and plentiful but may not be prioritized categories.
Typo in the text: .. Or if you are using a subdomain, use the following CNAME record: ...
Directory Owner should see users list in admin panel, who submitted listings
Please consider enabling true PWA for the directories created. This would help visitors install a simpler and lighter app on their screens, and would also lead to easier notifications as needed.
Social Links for Directory
Now, I am not really a fan of built in ai tools, I am happy using the ai tools I have and have good prompts for these. But, I can see the benefit of being able to write ai content, meta titles and meta descriptions, all within the directory. I do use seo press meta title and meta description ai generator, and even though they all need editing every time, the basis is there and it saves time. So, with a BYOK option for ai, it could be very useful.
When creating a listing, I want a "premium" switch that flags a listing as premium and adds a "Premium" badge on the listing card
ability to schedule blog posts so I can import them in bulk but only appear 1-2 a day
This would optionally make the external website link nofollow.
Would like to be able to add a selected state to sub-categories. Currently, all subcategory buttons have the same css structure, both selected and non-selected subcategories. Screenshot shows the nav when on the "No Code" subcategory
Ability to include custom CSS and JS for directories
Have a way to manually select multiple Listings and assign them all to a Category.
Custom HTML for Hero section and Footer
make the 'Made with Directify' text editable. 'Powered by Directify' or 'Build your own directory' might be more effective/powerful.
Ability to generate custom forms and gain leads
It would be nice to have a category selector above the listings on the compact template.
Ability to accept paid listings from users
The same feature for Extension, uploading a CSV or sync via Gsheet. Example/idea: **Extension:** a new flag with 'write content with AI' -> Save the listing through the extension and the content will be written by AI if the flag is active. **CSV + Gsheet:** a new column with a boolean value [0 or 1 / True or False] -> If positive, the content will be written using AI, both during the upload phase and sync (obviously managed through a queue like the rest). **Bulk config **like "get screenshot in bulk" **Global confing** for the directory
Right now, all listings are shown together, which makes it kinda of confusing if you have more than one directory. I think a global directory select would be much better. That way you can change between directories, and all dashboard settings are about the currently selected directory. I hope this makes sense.
Reordering of Listings
Even when the toggle is switched off in the directory settings, the empty categories are still shown in the left-hand menu.
Notification when someone submits a project
Ability to import/export products from CSV files
Can we have different text for Listing URL Button text on Listing Card? Different from the one on Listing page? Trying to increase outbound clicks so want to test different CTA text.
Setting for No-Follow/Do-Follow for Listing URL
Social Links for Listing
When a user goes into submitter dashboard, Directify name appears on header instead of that specific directory. This may confuse people.

Ability to add custom links to the sidebar and top navbar. (just like we can do for custom pages, but for links)
Right now, it is fixed on the top navbar. It should be optional in case the blog is not being used.
Request for a bulk screenshot option that retrieves info from URLs with a single button.
Via CSV export or just a text box (one per line)
This could make the directory much more flexible. For example, AI tools (main category) -> Copywriting (subcategory) Or for my use case, where locations are the categories: [country]/[state]/[city] [country] is the main category, [state] is subcategory and [city] is subsubcategory.
I want to use some categories but not have them shown in the nav. A simple toggle in each category setting would be good.
.. which will show/hide the button to submit listings for other users
This would be helpful to send notification emails to users when new listings are approved.
Increase pagination to 36 or allow to choose 12-24-36
Add ability to update default SEO title, description and OG image of the directory.
My listings dont' have a lot of content. Therefore I need a separate SEO BLOG or other type of pages where to put seo content : - Create an SEO content section. - Each page links to relevant listings. - Provide an editor for adding articles and managing links. - Enable interlinking from SEO pages to listings. - Include fields in the editor for meta titles, descriptions, and headings.
Export form leads to CSV. I have captured many emails for my newsletter. Currently, it's difficult to extract data from forms in Directify. Only a webhook exists, which takes time to set up.
It would be nice to be able to edit the slug of the listings, in case one needs to be optimized or changed.
Ability to customize texts in blog main page
Breadcrumbs for Blog
Using DaisyUI Theme Generator now you can generate your own themes and apply to all the templates.
It would be beneficial to have related listings alongside related articles. For example, in real estate or other marketplaces, there are multiple listings from the same owner or multiple properties from the same real estate agency.
This is useful for image logos that already have the name in them.
Hi Directify Support, I'm encountering a consistent issue when trying to submit a listing on my site (QCDayTrips.com). The image field throws the error **"The url field must be a valid URL"** no matter what I do. **Details:** * I've tested both uploading images and using direct image URLs (PNG, JPG, etc.) from valid sources. * I've tried the image field as optional and required. * Regardless of the method, I always receive the same URL validation error. * The file never attaches or gets accepted. * This is preventing any listings from being submitted. I've attached a screenshot showing the error and form setup for reference. Please let me know if this is a known issue or if a workaround exists. Thanks, Michael Elliott QCDayTrips.com
BugOn QCDayTrips.com, under the **Forms > Leads** section, I’m experiencing two critical issues: 1. **Clicking “View” on a lead returns a 500 Internal Server Error** * I cannot view the data submitted via the form. * This has occurred consistently for multiple entries. 2. **No way to retrieve uploaded files or images from customers** * Even though a file path or link shows in the lead table (e.g. ends in `.png`), there is **no clear or clickable download link**. * Attempting to open these links results in broken or incomplete responses. * There is no built-in file viewer or download option in the lead detail view. This makes it impossible to respond to customer submissions or access any assets they may have uploaded. **Site Details:** * **Theme:** Night * **Template:** Default * **Platform:** Directify * **Form ID (if relevant):** #119 * Issue tested on Chrome & Edge. Please advise if this is a known bug or if file handling/viewing requires a different configuration.
BugAllow Listing URL Button Text to be editable. Example : Button Text is "Call" and URL Text is "tel:+407859636385"
